What is the difference between widespan and rivet shelving?

Widespan uses a beam-and-upright design similar to small pallet rack, supporting heavier loads per shelf. Rivet (boltless) shelving is lighter-duty, faster to assemble, and best for hand-loaded items. We install both.

Can you install shelving on a mezzanine?

Yes. Mezzanine-mounted shelving is one of our most common configurations. We coordinate with the mezzanine install to anchor through the deck where required.

What about wire decking, dividers, and accessories?

We install wire decks, particle board decks, and steel decks per the project specification. Dividers, drawers, back and side panels, and label holders are part of the same install where ordered.

Do you remove old shelving as part of a re-shelving project?

Yes. Demolition, disposal, and floor cleanup are part of the install where requested. Material is recycled or scrapped per facility direction.

How long does a shelving install take?

A 100-section widespan run can typically be installed in 3 to 5 days by a standard crew. Multi-level pick mezzanine installations take longer. We provide an honest schedule with the quote.

Anchoring depends on shelf height, load capacity, and the project's seismic zone. Tall installations and shelving in seismic-active areas are anchored. We follow the manufacturer's recommendation and any applicable code.

Widespan Shelving Installation

Widespan shelving uses an upright-and-beam structure similar to small pallet rack, with wider beams that support medium-duty loads on solid or wire decks. It is the right answer for bulk picking, tote storage, and items too large for standard metal shelving but too small or light for pallet rack.

Our crews install widespan from manufacturers including Penco, Tennsco, and Lyon. Beam-and-upright assembly, deck installation (wire, particle board, or steel), and anchoring follow the manufacturer\'s specifications. Widespan often sits on mezzanines and pick modules as the storage medium on the upper levels.

We coordinate with mezzanine decking and structural rack work so the shelving installation flows directly out of the platform install with no schedule gap.

Industrial Metal Shelving Installation

Industrial metal shelving is the standard for hand-picked, lighter-duty storage: parts bins, document storage, retail backstock, MRO supplies, and tote-stored small parts. Clip shelving, rivet (boltless) shelving, and closed-back industrial shelving are all standard configurations.
